Cougar Ash Vacuum

Our entire goal at Love-Less is to give you a reliable vacuum that won't blow out ash. We do this with our two-stage filtration system. The first is a fiberglass filter that stops larger particles and protects the main filter from hot coals or embers. The second is a PTFE-coated filter that stops dust down to a fraction of the size of a human hair.

Most vacuums spit ash back out into the air. Here at Love-Less, our six gallon canisters are sealed using metal clamps and an o-ring. You won't have ash on your furniture, and you won't have ash particles in your lungs.

You love your fireplace but you hate the ashes. They get everywhere and they're hard to clean up. Shovels spill and create clouds of dust. Ash pan spill easily and what happens if a hot ember hits your floor? Well now you can put away your shovel and bucket forever! The loveless ash vac is the safest, cleanest way to remove ash from a fireplace, a wood stove, or a pellet stove. Safety is paramount. Ashes can ignite up to 72 hours after removal from a stove. So it's critical to handle them with all due caution. Now the one thing you don't ever want to do is use a household central or shop vacuum for cleaning up ash. They contain combustible parts and their filters aren't designed for ash. All it takes is one small concealed ember to create a dangerous situation. The combination of swirling air combustible debris and a glowing ember an causes a shop vacuum or household vacuum or central vacuum to melt even burst into flames. it happens all the time. at the very least the extremely fine ash particles will pass through a regular vacuum system and fill your house with ash. the loveless ash vac is designed to withstand high temperatures with primary metal components and filters rated to 1200 degrees Fahrenheit. and the filter is designed to capture extra fine ash particles. Now loveless offers two models of ash facts. the original cheetah 2 and the quieter cougar. both feature the same powerful 6 amp motor proven to provide reliable performance over years of regular use. both models use a fireproof metal canister that holds up to three gallons of ash canisters are available in your choice of three solid colors black red and green or a designer winter scene. print at no additional charge the fireproof stainless steel hose and proprietary steel nozzle are designed to safely handle the occasional hot ember hidden in ash the flexible hose is covered in an attractive black vinyl sleeve to maintain maximum suction all plastic components are designed and manufactured exclusively for loveless and are made of fire resistant thermal Plastics at the heart of the loveless ash vacuum system is the patented dual filtration System the primary outer filter is rated to 1200 degrees fahrenheit the inner secondary filter is designed to trap the extra fine ash particles that pass through the primary filter both filters feature a proprietary coating to resist the tendency of ash to cling and are manufactured exclusively by loveless now despite the special coating over time ash will cling to the filters reducing suction and when this happens you need to clean the filters but it's a fast easy and clean process simply remove this brass cover and wiggle the agitator rod from side to side to knock ash off the primary filter there's no need to open the unit so all the ash is kept inside it should be noted that a light coating of ash on the primary filter is normal and won't impede operation in fact it helps protect the filter should a live ember be sucked up loveless ash vacs are not designed to vacuum up hot embers or coals but every effort has been made to use fire resistant materials in case a hot amber is accidentally sucked into the vacuum attach the flexible metal hose to the port on the canister if the hose cuff doesn't fit tightly it should be replaced insert the metal nozzle into the other end of the hose both the nozzle and hose are made of metal and will transfer heat if you feel these components getting warm stop vacuuming immediately let the ashes cool before continuing pellet stoves accumulate spent ash in the combustion chamber and ash receptacles use extreme care to ensure the pellets are fully extinguished before vacuuming pellets and clinkers can stay hot for a long time cold clinkers can be broken up with the steel nozzle or removed separately cleaning ash from a fireplace or wood stove requires a slightly different technique again ensure the fire is out and the embers are cool lace the nozzle on the floor of the fireplace or stove at a slight angle ve the nozzle gently from side to side keeping the nozzle in contact with the bottom of the appliace ash will be removed from the bottom of the pile fine ash will be filtered into the vacuum and the larger pieces of charcoal will be left in the firebox as fuel for the next fire the nozzle is tapered to limit the size of the charcoal pieces that can be vacuumed up large pieces of charcoal should they be hot can be fanned to extreme temperatures by the air moving through the vacuum and cause damage to the filters to the lid even to the motor if you try to vacuum from the top of the pile larger chunks of wood or charcoal will clog the nozzle if the larger piece gets trapped in the opening shutting off the vacuum may release it but if not gently tapping the end of the nozzle on the bottom of the appliance should break up the charcoal under no circumstances should you attempt to remove the blockag with your Fingers severe burns may result loveless offers an optional accessory tool package for Sale included are a crevice tool a pellet stove cleaning hose and a soft bristle Brush the crevice tool is perfect for getting into nooks and crannies where the metal nozzle can't reach the pellet stove cleaning hose is designed to get into exhaust passages and pellet stoves where ash can Accumulate the soft horsehair bristle brush is great for cleaning ash off cool stove door glass and painted surfaces loveless also offers two wire brushes for heavier maintenance these brushes can be used to remove heavier accumulations of material from a combustion chamber or exhaust passage under no circumstances should wood debris or other combustible materials be cleaned up with your loveless ash vac these combustible materials could be ignited within the vacuum should a live coal be accidentally vacuumed up the vacuum can hold up to three gallons of ash emptying the barrel on a regular basis is encouraged ash must be emptied once the ash reaches the hose port a noticeable drop-off in suction will occur as the barrel gets filled when dumping the ash make sure the ash is cool and contains no hot embers wood ash can be used in compost and on plants that like a high ph soil if emptying the barrel and cleaning the primary filter with the agitator rod doesn't restore suction it's time to clean the secondary filter start by vacuuming off the primary filter with a shop vacuum or other suitable vacuum it's best to perform this service outside the living area and to clean the servicing vacuum or replace the bag after completing this operation loosen the stainless steel band clamp and remove the filter vacuuming off the secondary filter is usually all that's required to restore the ashvac to full suction please note the filters are not washable washing them will damage the special coating and they'll lose their effectiveness a damage filter should be replaced immediately damage can occur if the external shaker rod is shaken too violently or in an up and down motion rather than side to side the filter support will chafe the material and eventually create a hole a charred or melted hole in the filter or filters is evidence of hot coals being vacuumed up indicating the need for increased vigilance loveless recommen s replacing filters as a set but filters are available individually keeping a spare set of filters on hand is smart install the new secondary filter and tighten the band clamps securely but don't over tighten note the filter material should just be visible under the clamp replace the primary filter cage ensuring that the shaker rod is inserted through the hole in the lid and into the rod cover install the new filter over the rim provided on the lid and reinstall the stainless steel band clamp do not over tighten as with the  condary filter don't pull the primary filter down tight no extra material should be pulled under the band clamp installing the filter too tight will prevent the external shaker system from performing as it should and can cause premature failure of the filter due to chafing learn to love your fireplace or stove again a loveless ash vac is the safest cleanest and fastest way to remove ash from your fireplace wood stove or pellet stove choose from the original cheetah 2 or the quieter cougar the best made and best selling ash vacuums anywhere the loveless ash back made with pride in the usa you.
